01 / The driver

Talent earned
the opportunity.

Niagara Falls, Canada.
A career built across borders.

The budget rarely matched the ambition. The results kept opening doors.

Nelson Mason’s career has been shaped by finding more in every opportunity: more speed from limited equipment, more progress from a smaller budget, and another way forward when the obvious route was closed.

From motocross and karting in Canada to European Formula 3 victories and a Winter Series championship, Nelson earned his place on the international single-seater stage, racing at Macau and progressing to GP3.

In 2014, he was part of Sahara Force India’s Formula 1 young driver programme through his GP3 campaign with Hilmer Motorsport. A one-off guest appearance in Formula 3 at Barcelona that year brought another podium: second place in the Euroformula Open season finale.

An injury at the 2014 GP3 season finale, held during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, kept him sidelined through 2015 and 2016. He returned to international competition in 2017 in World Series Formula V8 3.5, one of Formula 1’s premier feeder championships.

Porsche Cup and dirt racing later broadened that record. The range is the foundation of his story: a Canadian competitor who can adapt, develop and deliver across very different forms of motorsport.
